Monica Gaga
What makes a character unforgettable? It’s not the accent. It’s not the costume. It’s what they want - and why they care.
In this playful and practical workshop, Monica Gaga invites you to deepen your character work by focusing on motivation, backstory and emotional truth. Together, we’ll explore how to build characters with heart - characters shaped by desire, history and lived experience.
This workshop is ideal for beginner to intermediate improvisers who want to move beyond surface-level choices and create more connected, meaningful scenes.
Monica brings over two decades of improv experience, infectious enthusiasm and a fiercely supportive energy. A regular with The Comedy Store Players and producer of queer improv collective HELL YEAH!, she’s known for creating spaces that are inclusive, safe and joyfully challenging.
As one student shared: “Monica is the best teacher! She made me feel very comfortable and safe… whatever happens it will be ok.”
Bring something to jot down ideas (if that’s your jam) - and come ready to play.
