Improv changes lives. At the Bristol Improv Theatre we know how transformative it can be when people have space to let go, be spontaneous, creative and discover the power of play. Taking part in Improv can help you feel more confident and empowered in everything you do.

Improv is built on one simple, idea: “Yes, and.” When people improvise together, they learn to listen closely, collaborate generously, and support each other deeply. Our improv courses give people the chance to build confidence, connection, nurture mental wellbeing and just Say Yes….But not everyone who could benefit can afford to take part.

Our Say Yes Goal for 2026

With your support, this year we want to give 1,000 people the chance to take part in our courses, drop-ins and taster workshops.

To make that possible, we are committing to:

• Freezing our open-access concession prices at 2025 rates, to keep all our courses affordable
• Launching a bursary fund to offer free places on our flagship Discovering Improv course for those most in need
• Continuing to grow inclusive, welcoming spaces where wellbeing and fun comes first

Regular donations allow us to plan ahead, expand access, and say “yes” to more people who need support, creativity and community.

What Your Donation Makes Possible

Your support goes directly into our Say Yes Fund helping people who need it most to access Discovering Improv — our flagship beginners course where participants build confidence, boost wellbeing, and supercharge their creativity.

Here’s what saying yes can look like:

• £180 gives 1 person a free place on Discovering Improv course
  
• £1,800 gives 10 people free places
  
• £12,000 gives 67 people free places
  
• £18,000* gives 100 people free places — meaning 10% of all Discovering Improv participants in the year can attend for free
